Sayonara for now.

In the past two months, Kian's been lucky to have many visits with his godfather Brian and his wife, Lisa, who live about an hour south of the city and also his Uncle Kippy who spends the weekdays working down in the valley, an hour from us. Brian and Lisa visited Tokyo once a year so Kian had a chance to see them once in awhile but to be able to see them almost every 2 weeks has been such a treat. It's also very endearing to watch them get closer and closer after each visit.

Uncle Kippy spends his weekdays here and goes home back to Boise for the weekends to spend time with his one and only wife, Dawn. We've been especially lucky since Auntie Dawn has made a few visits down to CA since we've moved here so we've felt like we actually have family here which has made our first 2 months very easy (one of the reasons I was opposed to moving to SF initially was the lack of family support here in SF).

Unfortunately, sadly and hard to come to terms with yet but.. Brian and Lisa will be moving to Seattle at the end of this month and Kip will be moving back home to Boise this week. Sad, sad, sad. I'm not sure if I'm sad for Kian or even more sad myself to see everyone go. Bad timing ... just when we move back, everyone is leaving.

In any case, the whole gang got together for a farewell dinner tonight. My ranting on Facebook about being homesick for Japanese food and ramen paid off. They took us to a delicious yakitori restaurant which also served ramen. Felt just like home, surrounded with family and friends!  We'll miss you all!
