Updates from the LGs

Where did the past month go?!? It's really been an entire month since my last post yet the birthday celebration at New York Grill seems like yesterday. Needless to say, it's been more than crazy with the move, house stuff, piles of paperwork, visitor from the US, and of course, the unforgettable Kian. His vocab has improved leaps and bounds in the past month, both in Japanese and English. He'll point at butterfly in painting in our living room and say to Mar, "butterfly" but then turn around and say "chocho" (butterfly in Japanese) to me. Very proud mommy!

About the same size as Maddie except this one has a saddle

On the other hand, his eating habits have taken a few steps back.. Once a great eater, now his diet consists of only Japanese food, and very usual things even from there. White rice, natto (fermented beans), miso soup (just the soup), fish, spring rolls, and dried fish flakes. Those are his faves. His dislikes (or more like an ABSOLUTE NO NO NO) include pizza, any kind of pasta, anything green, quesadillas and ice cream. Breakfast seems to be where he's most flexible and he'll eat pancakes, cereal, toast, yogurt, smoothies, cottage cheese, and sometimes eggs or go for a rice ball with seaweed.  What kid doesn't like pizza? It's going to be a bit challenging for us in the States for some time. :)

Chillin @ the park

We also had a friend visit us from San Francisco. Her awesome hubbie gave her a RT trip to Tokyo for her bday sans her two boys, or actually 3 if you include the hubs. We headed up to Hakone for an overnight traditional onsen experience and a Mt Fuji visit, trekked it all over town for the major sites and just had a good time. The open air museum in Hakone was a big hit for the adults and Kian. Always great to have friends in town.

We are taking Maddie to our breeder tomorrow. She'll be reunited with her mom and dad and some of her siblings and her new life in the countryside will start. I have yet to come to terms with saying goodbye to her but I am most worried about Kian. I see them chasing each other all the time and will often catch Kian giving Maddie a big bear hug. Priceless moments which will be missed by all of us but Kian probably the most... getting teary eyed just thinking about it.

Ready to jump on Maddie's back
We're taking baby steps with the move. Mar is headed back to SF this Saturday to start his new job. Then he'll be back for a few weeks at end of the June/July to help with the move. The moving company is scheduled for July 17th and we'll move into my mom's for a bit. Oops, I have yet to  tell her that Kian and I are INVADING her house for over a month. :)

Hopefully it won't be another month before a new post. Mar will be away for a few weeks which means it LIGHTENS up my housework and cooking by mounds allowing me with some extra time on my hands. More soon.

"Mar will be away for a few weeks which means it LIGHTENS up my housework"... Whatever?!
