Back to Tokyo. LOVE LOVE LOVE being home. I'm not sure if I'm gonna actually make it back on my flight back to SF. hehe. It's so nice to be with my family and to feel safe walking around anywhere, day and night. My mom is loving having her grandkids around and all the chaos which comes with it.
Cherry blossoms were in full bloom when we arrived so we kicked off our long holiday with a cherry blossom hanami picnic with my sister's family. Mar had a pretty busy work week (remotely) so I got to spend some good quality time with my sister and her 2 girls, and meet up with some friends for a catchup.
Despite not being able to go out and eat as much as we would like, we are loving the take-home bento options and food trucks offering everything from roast beef, dim sum and Thai curry and all the yummy bakeries and pastries. :)
Meika is two and a half months old today is developing her own personality. A bit more high maintenance than her brother, she likes to be held 24/7 and prefers that the person who is holding her to be STANDING at all times. She's a thumb sucker. A major one... to the point that she's made herself gag, and drools like no one's business. Thank goodness for the drool bibs we received from our cousin, which I first thought were headbands. She does share some of the same traits as her brother, which I would say are all the good ones. She sleeps and sleeps. She will wake up occasionally for a feed in the middle of the night but goes right back to sleep until around 7am and wakes up with a smile. She loves her baths and doesn't mind the water getting all over her face. She can sleep in noisy places which is great because Kian is usually flinging his light saber around her pretending to fight battle droids while she naps. Here she is today... one of the very few pictures we have of her. (note to self: take more pictures of her so she doesn't get a complex when she's older. Kian's 100 billion albums vs. her few snapshots on my iPhone). Happy Easter to all. The Easter bunny forgot to visit Tokyo this year but there's always next year!
