It's always fun times when Kian's Godfather, Brian, comes into town. We headed down to San Jose for a day of amusement park rides and animals at Happy Hollow Park and Zoo. It's like Disneyland for Kian's age group with toddler swing rides and cars, a family roller coaster, puppet shows and a zoo. Kian had his first experience riding a roller coaster. Even though I was hyping him up to put his hands up in the air and happy scream which he was doing as soon as he sat down, his jaw dropped at the first drop and his face remained fearful than excited for the rest of the ride. At least he was tough enough not to cry! While Kian was riding the roller coaster with me, Meika adventured through the park with Brian's wife, Lisa, hand-in-hand. Meika also went on her first amusement park ride. Kian drove her around in a car and her smile says it all. The kids had so much fun on the rides that we didn't even make it to the zoo-part of the park. Another reason to go back for another visit soon.

We always enjoy driving down to San Jose because it means that we'll get to stop by for an early dinner at one of my high school friend, Ryan's restaurant, SP2. Spiced Ahi Tuna with Hearts of Palm, Radish, Fingerling Potato Chips, and the Ginger Soy Glazed Baby Back Ribs with Cabbage and Bok Choy Slaw were a few of my favorites this time.
Next time I'll remember to take more pictures of the adults...
