Little man was initiated into manhood today. Proud papa and MIL took him to the DR where he was strapped down, clamped, scalped away and made into a real man! It's not a common procedure here and from my research, most Europeans don't do the procedure either and Australia which had the second highest % of circumcised babies in the past (after USA), is now showing that more parents are opting out of the procedure. So the US is really the only country that actually still follows this procedure diligently.... I still don't really know if it's a cultural thing or a health and hygiene related matter. Regardless, it's done and over with so PHEW!!
The first week flew by with no major problems, probably because MIL is here to burp, settle, play and sing to Kian around the clock making our lives easypeaaaze. Lucky us, Kian sleeps well and only wakes up once during the night to feed so mommy is not overly tired.. and actually itching to go for a run or do some kind of active workout. But I will have to wait 6-8 weeks before I can actually do anything active to let my battle scars heal nicely. :-)
Our first family picture and a smiley Kian at 10 days.
Excellent family photo! Congrats big sister Maddie:)
