Our Valentine's lunch was definitely a highlight so far this year for restaurant picks. We headed out to a French restaurant,
La Hortensia, which combines innovative modern techniques and Japanese flavors with classic French cuisine. Once a month, they offer a Kids Day, offering parents to enjoy fine dining without feeling guilty about their screaming kids! Genius! Loved every minute of it. It was rather quiet and calm despite it being Kids Day.. and almost felt like we were on date night since Kian slept through most of the lunch. I still can't get over the Tuna and Yam Wrapped in Soybean and Aged Balsamico ... beautiful presentation, and the Scampi and "Zuwai"-crab Ravioli with Tomato Cream Sauce. I wanted to lick the sauce off the plate.. actually we did, with our bread!
And for the foodies out there, here's more from our menu:
| Roasted Leg of Venison in Rock Salt Shell, Sauce of Red Currant Poivrade |
| Two way Tiramisu Amaretto sauce |
| Two kinds of Sesame Blanc-Mange with Soybean Flour Sauce |
And as usual, while we feasted, Kian ate his Sophie the Giraffe. His first fine dining experience!
| Diving into my ravioli! |
| Happy Valentine's Day!! |
