Babymoon

Dear Imaginary Readers,

We're sun kissed, and our bellies are stuffed with goya, ocean grape seaweed and mango gelatos. Baby LG has been kicking and rolling a lot lately, and I'm starting to think it's because I kept on stuffing my tummy with such yummy local Okinawan cuisine, leaving him so little room to stretch and play so he's been a bit upset.

Yep, we just came back from our BABYMOON to Okinawa/Ishigaki Island, the southern most island in Japan. It's been in the news a lot recently because the US military base there is re-locating to Guam but the Japanese/US govt are still debating who will cover the cost of the move. Enough about politics and if anyone wants to know more about it, ask Mar to post an entry on the details... it's more his territory. Anyway, always nice to escape the concrete jungle and fast pace of Tokyo and take in the island lifestyle...

Unfortunately, rainy season decided to start 10 days earlier than usual so we didn't have the best of weather but somehow Mar managed to get lobster-red burnt.  Here's Mar trying out the local instrument - sansen.

Long hot day of walking around Naha. Mar finds another fella feelin' the same way.

25 weeks preggers, checking out the local black sugar goods.

YUM! Soki soba.... simmered pork belly and noodles.

And Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful moms out there. I'll be joining you all pretty soon! xxx
